Christmas. It’s such a beautiful, heartwarming time of year. Snowflakes fall and blow in the breeze as Christmas cards pile high in mailboxes. Wrapping paper and presents gather under the tree as children wait in anticipation. Amidst all the hustle and bustle, Tammy and her family have never lost sight of the true meaning of Christmas. Like a Christmas light, they burn brightly for the Lord, spreading Christmas cheer to their church and community with the precious story of Christ’s birth. So, when Tammy wanted us to take her Christmas family portraits in our North East, PA, portrait studio, we couldn’t wait to show her and her family our appreciation and celebrate this special season together!
Tammy has served as the kids’ pastor at her church for years, devoting her time and energy to teaching little ones about her Lord and Savior. This year she’s organizing a Christmas presentation with the kids to show them that Christmas is about so much more than cookies and gifts; it’s about Jesus! Dressing them up in angel costumes and helping them learn a song, she’s working to show them Jesus’ great love. She’s teaching them that He loved them so much to humble Himself and be born in a manger. That way, He could later die on the cross and cleanse them from all their wrongdoings, so they could live with Him forever. His sacrifice was the perfect gift, and for that reason, the kids and everyone could have “Christmas Joy,” which is the name of the song that the kids will be performing.
Filled with that same joy, Angie and Lincoln are following Tammy’s example and sharing the Christmas story with their congregation, too. As part of the kids’ Christmas special, Lincoln is also learning the song and picking out his costume with the other kids, and Angie has helped the church’s teens plan a Christmas skit.
Day in and day out, that’s just the beautiful people they are, constantly pouring out themselves to praise the Lord and fill up others because of their deep love and connection with Him and one another. With so much Christmas joy, they just can’t help but let it overflow onto others, making the season merry and bright!
“Mary responded [to the angel], ‘I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.’ And then the angel left her” (Luke 1:38, NLT).
Dear Yukon Family, just as Mary committed herself to serve the Lord by humbling herself and giving birth to Jesus, your kindness, diligence, and sacrifice don’t go unnoticed. Your selfless, loving hearts are pure treasures, and we could never thank you enough for all you do! You shine so brightly in your photos and everywhere you go, emitting your radiant beauty from the inside out! Have a wonderful Christmas! We had so much fun with your Christmas family portraits! Love you lots!
