Hidden amongst all the tinsel and mistletoe are the tiny Christmas blessings that bring a smile to your face. When you least expect it, God seems to drop in those treasured moments, reminding you of the love and joy you hold so dear. One of these God-sent blessings found its way into our hearts this Christmas season as we were photographing our dear friend and her family’s Christmas truck family photos at our portrait location in North East, PA. At that moment, we heard these five heart-touching words that will forever touch our lives – “Their dad’s name was Matthew.”
Tammy hopped into the truck as Angie and Lincoln sat beside her. Their cozy red and black checkered pajamas were perfect for the Christmas season, and their smiles glittered as bright as the stars. It isn’t their fun, festive outfits that set their images apart, though. It’s their love for one another and overflowing cheer that shines the brightest in their photos! Tammy and her family are just the types of people you can’t help but smile at whenever they enter the room. Their overwhelming love, joy, and connection are more valuable than gifts under the tree.
As Angie and Lincoln rode around in our white, vintage truck, Matthew, Tammy shared with us that the kids’ father had shared the same name. Immediately, our hearts melted. We couldn’t help but marvel at how God had orchestrated that special moment and blessing into place-for them to capture their precious love and connection with the memory of their dad-reminding Tammy, Lincoln, and Angie of His immense, unfailing love for them.
“Your unfailing love, O LORD, is as vast as the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds” (Psalm 36:5, NLT).
Yukon Family, never forget how much the Lord loves you! Angie and Lincoln, your dad would be so proud of the beautiful people you have become! God will be right beside you and your family as you all lean on His faithfulness and strength! You’re all such Christmas blessings, and we’re grateful for your love for one another and many others!
